Diane grew up singing three-part harmony with her sisters. Her diverse background includes choir and madrigals, folk, piano, bass, guitar and Irish harp. She has been composing and performing professionally since 1974, playing and singing all kinds of music from rock to Celtic to children's songs. From 1997 through 2001 Diane sang and played harp in the Celtic duo Almost Avalon. She and Barbara Arnett, on silver flute and tin whistle, performed at many weddings and concerts in Virginia.
From 1999 through 2003 Diane performed nationally at folk festivals and concerts with Paul Reisler, founder of "Trapezoid." Diane also assisted Paul in songwriting workshops for children, that show kids that they can be the creators, and not just the consumers, of music. An accomplished songwriter herself, Diane has also sat in on backup vocals for such well-known songwriters as Tom Paxton, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Steve Seskin, and Gary Nicholson.
Diane's recording career includes two albums with the band Anahata, "Journey's Goal" and "Live at La Paloma," as well as the soundtrack for the movie "Harmony Within." With Timmaris McDowell, Diane recorded "Listen and Follow" and "For a Child's Heart," a collection of original non-denominational devotional songs which has been a popular children's album for 25 years. She sang all vocals on Alex Jones' albums, "Awaker of Hearts" and "Portrait" (on which she wrote half the songs) and was the vocalist for Erik Fehr's children's album, "Harry the Troll." Diane's lead and backup vocals shine on the award-winning "Tidal Wave of Song," an album of songs co-written with children that was released in 2001 (see www.kidpanalley.org).
Diane currently composes and performs songs of awakening, transformation and healing - many of which are co-written with her husband, Robert Augustus Masters – at all of their workshops and trainings and during their public talks.
She has performed her songs and healing affirmation chants in Ojai, Ca at Meditation Mount, Ojai Retreat, Casa Barranca, and she sang in the house band for 2 years at the Symphony of Life Church.
Her most recent recording is a CD 'O Breathe Us Deep', co-written with Robert Masters.
